SacRT SmaRT Ride is an innovative ride-sharing service designed to offer a personalized transit option within specific service areas. This application allows you to conveniently schedule pick-ups and drop-offs right from your smartphone, much like traditional ride-share applications, but with the structured reliability of public transit.

When using this service, you can set your pickup location, destination, and the desired time frame, directly through the app. The app’s intelligent algorithm promptly matches you with a nearby SmaRT Ride bus, providing estimated pick-up times while enabling you to track the bus's location in real-time. This feature is especially useful as it gives you the flexibility to plan accordingly and minimizes waiting time. Alerts will notify you when your ride is approaching, ensuring a smooth and efficient user experience.

The application offers two types of service modes. The standard option provides curb-to-curb service – picking passengers up and dropping them off at their specified addresses. In newer service areas, it employs a corner-to-corner system, where travel occurs between the closest corners or virtual bus stops near the specified locations, optimizing travel times and efficiency. The Downtown zone operates exclusively using designated SacRT bus stops for pick-ups and drop-offs.

Operational hours vary by zone, generally running from early morning to evening, with extended service hours in certains zones like Downtown-Midtown-East Sacramento and Citrus Heights-Antelope-Orangevale.

For payment, a variety of fare options are accepted, including cash, Connect Card, Zip Pass, and several discount passes. This flexibility makes the service accessible and convenient for a wide range of users. Additionally, the buses accommodate up to ten passengers and are equipped for wheelchair accessibility, ensuring inclusivity for all passengers.
